Living To Serve Him
It takes a lot for a church to run successfully. We are a community of faithful believers in the heart of Elmira, New York. Our vision is to see whole-life transformation by meeting people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. And it takes a team.
Jeremy Cranmer grew up in Elmira and came to Christ early in his life. Continuing his journey with Jesus he attended Practical Bible College in Binghamton NY. While there, he would meet Ratricia Ehman playing volleyball. 14 months later they would be married and have been married over 15 years and have one son, and one daughter.
Jeremy served as a Youth Pastor for 12 years at two different churches. During the same 12 years, he was also a caseworker working with teens in foster care. In 2018, he was called by God to Pastor his own church and is the first pastor with His United Body Community Church.
His Life Verse is, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 21:30-31
Shawnie is a founding member of the HUB. She has a passion for using music in the church to introduce people to Jesus, respond to what God has done in the gospel of Jesus, and provide heart-shaping experiences.
Shawnie, a native of Elmira, started playing guitar at 14. She loved guitars and music so much she learned also learned to play all kinds of guitars: acoustic, bass, slide, and electric. She is an Army veteran, met her husband in Texas over 20 years ago, and has two beautiful daughters.
Tami has a strong love and desire to share the Gospel and Good News with children.
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:16-17 (NIV)
Worship is not about you, it’s about Him. We don’t attend a service to see ‘what we can get out of it today; instead, we come to give ourselves to God.
Each service, the Worship Team seeks to create an environment where you can immerse yourself and worship God with your total being. We want to engage with everyone attending so that what they see, what they hear, and what they experience all point towards Jesus Christ, whom we serve.
Opportunities to be a part of the worship or tech team are available for those gifted singers, instrumentalists, and technicians from our congregation who desire to serve the Lord through the use of their gifts. If you are interested, contact Shawnie Brown.
